Vendors have been kept largely in the dark regarding sell thru and product performance. They know what they sold you, but they have no idea what is working, what is not performing and how much aged retailers have. With your permission, vendors can obtain sales and inventory information which allows them to better understand your business with regards to fast and multi sellers, category performance by price point and non-performing and aged merchandise. Creating a closer collaboration with your vendors can increase cash flow and lead to a more profitable business.

Your retail selling price and gross profit information are never shared with your vendors. Vendors only have the ability to see unit sales, cost of goods sold, on hand inventory & aged information. The only data related to pricing that is shared with vendors are price point ranges. It’s important to note that the vendor will only see their information.

As the retailer, you have full control to turn the partner permissions on/off at any time for each vendor. See the instructions below on how to do this.

1. Hover over the Home Tab and click on Partner Permissions when it appears in the drop-down menu.

2. A listing of all of your Vendors (active & inactive) will appear. If a Vendor is a part of the BIG Network, you will see the BIG Network Logo (below) next to the Make Partner button.

a.     If you want to view just your vendors that are a part of the BIG Network, click on the BIG header at the top of the report. A drop-down menu will appear, select Yes. The report will re-run showing you just your vendors that are a part of the BIG Network.

3. By selecting Make Partner, you will allow the vendor access to view your data that relates to them only. It is always best to advise your rep that you have given them access.

a. Once you make a vendor a partner, the people icon will turn colored (instead of grey).

b. If you ever want to see which vendors you have given partner permission to, you can do this by clicking on the Is Partner header at the top of the report. A drop-down menu will appear, select Yes. The report will re-run showing you just the vendors you have given permissions to.

4.  If you ever need to turn partner permissions off, just click on the Remove Partner button. The people icon will turn grey, and the vendors access will be discontinued.

Because we are continually talking to Vendors outside the BIG Network, we encourage you to select the Make Partner button for any vendor you would consider sharing data with. That way, when we do talk with them, we will be able to show them how many retailers have already given them permission.
